Baby News
Well, I am now 22 weeks pregnant and we had our ultrasound a few weeks ago. We weren't actually going to find out the sex of the baby, because Clarence wanted to be surprised. We didn't find out with the two girls and I have to admit it was very fun to not know. However, when this baby is born, it will have been six years since I last did the baby thing. I secretly really wanted to know, but since Clarence didn't, I didn't say anything. So, when we went to the ultrasound, we told the lady who performed the ultrasound not to tell us the sex. The last two minutes, my husband blurted out, "Let's just find out what it is." I rejoiced, and the kids rejoiced. And now we know we are having a boy. So two boys and two girls. Yay for us!

Culture Club
The last few months we have been studying different countries with some other homeschooling families. We started out studying Canada, and this month we have been studying Iceland. We will take a break for the summer. I am so amazed at how much I am learning. It has been so much fun. We get together one day a week and do projects, presentations, a history timeline, and lectures about the country. Not all in one week, but spread throughout the month. We also read and discuss a classical literature book from each country. I feel that we all have gained a love for and appreciation of other cultures and countries.
When we studied Canada, we sewed the Canadian flag and made igloos out of sugar cubes to represent the Innuit people. McKay also did a great presentation on Terry Fox, a Canadian with a prosthetic leg whose goal was to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He ended up only making it about halfway because he got cancer a second time and passed away. What an inspiring person. Iceland was also very inspiring. We made volcanoes, got to see the monument that President Hinckley dedicated honoring the Icelandic pioneers, and we got to meet someone with an amazing Icelandic heritage. What a great time.
It will be nice to slow down a bit for the summer and then start up again in August. McKay is doing track for the summer and Elena will be doing swimming lessons. It should be a fun but very busy summer.
